Five people have been killed in Clarksville in the past year and the cases remain unsolved.
Clarksville Police have been stumped by the shootings to the point where they called a press conference Jan. 31 to bring the crimes by into the public eye.
At the press conference, Sgt. Tim Finley said the department only has a four-officer unit to investigate deaths. Having so many so close together has stretched them thin.
"Once a new homicide happens, we pretty much have to drop what we're doing and start on the next," he said.
Special Operations Unit Commander David Crockarell said the cases haven't gone cold yet, but to solve them they need the public's help.

Marcellus Flynn
Flynn, 39, left behind two sons, his parents and extended family when he was killed April 13, 2017.
Not unknown to police, articles on ClarksvilleOnline.com outlined his past infractions and how in 2010 he was listed on Clarksville's Most Wanted for felony theft and violation of probation.
Despite his past, his family still wants to find who killed him.
"Any clues, any hints would really help me out. It would really help police out. Somebody's got to know something so please help me," Flynn's mother Sandra Reyes told WTVF.
Flynn was found suffering from a gunshot wound arounf 1:30 a.m. April 13, 2017, at the Linclon Homes, a public housing development in Clarksville. Paramedics took him to the hospital where he died from this injuries.
Christopher Lane
Lane was killed Nov. 7, 2017, during a confrontation with two armed men, one in a mask, entered a home on Hundred Oaks Lane uninvited. Four men were in the home when shots were fired and Lane was hit in his torso. The perpetrators then "took some property from the home and fled the scene before officers arrived," a CPD press release said.
Lane was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died.
Police have released surveillance footage of the men entering the home, along with people in the suspect vehicle.
"It's hard. He was our only child. He wasn't married, didn't have any children, so that hurts," his mother Sandra Lane told WTVF.
Charles Nelson
Nelson, 53, was found by a passerby, shot multiple times behind a home on Chapel Street in Clarksville. Paramedics took him to the hospital where he died.
A CPD press release said Nelson may have been in an argument with several unknown subjects before the shooting. Investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the argument.

Rayquan Hudson-Lyle
A father of two, Hudson, 28, was born in Flint, Michigan, according to his obituary.
Hudson was found around 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, on his porch on Mitchell Street in Clarksville, according to a crime brief from WTVF.
He was found with a gunshot to his upper body. Police said he was in extremely critical condition when EMS personnel took him to the hospital. He died Nov. 20, 2017.
"It was in a high crime area. They said there were no witnesses and it's just hard to believe in that area nobody saw or heard anything," Hudson's father Anthony Lyle told WTVF.
Tavon Wilson
Wilson, 23, was killed Jan. 7 in his Clarksville apartment.
CPD responded to a welfare check and found him dead from multiple gunshot wounds around 10:45 a.m. that morning, according to an article on WSMV.com.
Shots were heard in the area around midnight the night before and it appeared like Wilson was shot in the apartment,
Wilson's mother Sharon Wilson told WTVF she thinks her son knew the people who killed him.
"I would like to know, as a mother, as his sisters, they want to know what happened to their brother because you didn't have the right to take my son away. Under no circumstances. You did not have that right and I want to know why and I want justice for my son," Wilson said.
